The rules and regulations that govern the City of MCLA

Section 01: Buildings

Part 01: Construction
MC 01.01-01 

(Commercial, Residential, Mixed) 

A minimum of seven (7) blocks must be between the floor and ceiling of all rooms, except the following: stairwells (5 blocks), utility rooms (3 blocks) and storage rooms (3 blocks).

MC 01.01-02

(Commercial, Residential, Mixed) 

A minimum of four (4) blocks in width must be maintained in all rooms, in all directions, except the following: utility rooms (no minimum) and storage rooms (no minimum).

MC 01.01-03

(Commercial, Residential, Mixed) 

All bedrooms, including hotel rooms and temporary sleeping quarters, must have a minimum of five (5) blocks of glass window opening to the building exterior.

MC 01.01-04

(Commercial, Residential, Mixed) 

A minimum of eight (8) blocks buffer must be maintained around all buildings, in which no buildings or other large structures are permitted. Small sheds, out-buildings, fences, pools, etc are permitted.

Part 02: Safety
MC 01.02-01 

(Commercial, Residential, Mixed) 

A minimum of at least one (1) staircase for means of emergency egress must be maintained for every two thousand (2,000) sq blocks

MC 01.02-02 

(Commercial) 

An audio-visual life safety and fire notification system should be always active and properly maintained at all times to permit occupancy of a building. In the event of malfunction or in-progress repair, a fire-watch crew must be assigned to patrol the building until repairs are made.

MC 01.02-03 

(Residential) 

An audio fire and/or smoke detector shall be installed in all rooms, at minimum, one for every one-hundred (100) sq blocks.

MC 01.02-04 

(Commercial) 

An audio-visual life safety and fire notification applicance should placed every fourteen (14) blocks, and at minimum, one per room. Rooms less than thirty (30) sq ft in size are exempt from audio notification requirements, and may use a visual-only appliance.

Section 02: Transportation

Part 01: Roads
MC 02.01-01

All traffic lanes must be a minimum of four (4) blocks in width, and a minimum of five (5) blocks in width when a solid barrier taller than one-half (1/2) block is present on either side of the lane.

MC 02.01-02 

All roads with more than one lane shall have road paint to mark the division between each lane and each direction of travel.

MC 02.01-03 

All intersections shall have lane-use markings for each lane, and for lanes with only one direction of travel, the word "ONLY" shall be displayed under the lane-use marking.

Part 02: Sidewalks
MC 02.02-01

All sidewalks must be a minimum of four (4) blocks in width and shall remain unobstructed from structures below four (4) blocks above, except sign posts and poles.

Part 03: Infrastructure
MC 02.03-01

All bridges and tunnels shall have a minimum clearance of nine (9) blocks, and where possible, a clearance of ten (10) blocks.

MC 02.03-02

All bridges must be assigned an MCLA DOT Identifier and a sign installed to display the identifier with the text "MCLA DOT" and the street name.

Part 04: Traffic Signs & Signals
MC 02.04-01

Traffic light and traffic signs overhead beams and masts shall have a minimium of nine (9) blocks clearance. Traffic signals should be mounted with their center between ten to twelve (10 to 12) blocks clearance.

MC 02.04-02

Traffic signs shall be displayed with a minimum of three (3) blocks clearance, preferably four (4), and where possible, shall not interrupt crosswalks or sidewalks.

MC 02.04-03

At all intersections with a traffic light system, a signal shall be prominently installed above each lane, except for left-turn lanes which have an implied turn signal in the lane immediately to the right, such as a doghouse signal.

MC 02.04-04

At all intersections, a sign with each intersecting road name must be prominently displayed such that it is visible from all intersecting roads (except road being named).

MC 02.04-05

The standard background color for all traffic signs shall be MCLA road sign blue (HEX #006FFF), with the following exceptions: (1) pedestrian crossings and non-road points-of-interest shall use road sign green (HEX #308446), (2) utility and limited-access roads shall use road sign brown (HEX #693F23), (3) roads which permit hazardous materials shall use road sign yellow (HEX #FFCD00), and (4) roads which are designated as dangerous () shall use road sign red (HEX #A6192E).

Lakewood, suberb city of MCLA, has been granted an exception from MC 02.04-05 by the City of MCLA Department of Transportation. All policies, expectations, rules, regulations and other implications set forth in MC 02.04-05 do not apply or effect the City of Lakewood, MCLA.

Allard Heights, suberb city of MCLA, has been granted an exception from MC 02.04-05 by the City of MCLA Department of Transportation. All policies, expectations, rules, regulations and other implications set forth in MC 02.04-05 do not apply or effect the City of Allard Heights, MCLA.
